Nancy Loving Hooper, 84, of Sandston

Nancy Loving Hooper (Vincent Funeral Home)

Nancy Loving Hooper, 84, of Sandston, VA went to be with her heavenly father on September 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. It was then that she was reunited with the love of her life, her husband, “T.R.”. She always said that he needed her to hear, and she needed him to see, but now they are both perfect and reunited.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Thurman Ray Hooper, Sr., “T.R.”; her son, Glenn Scott Hooper; her parents, Walter A & Dorothy Loving; two brothers, Walter A. Loving, Jr. and Douglas Loving. She is survived by two sons, Thurman Hooper Jr. (Jolyn) and Jerry Hooper; and two daughters, Tammy Hooper Stevens (Gene) and Theresa Hooper McGirt (Terry). She was also loved by 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who knew her as “Nanny”; a brother, Charles Brooken Loving (Sandra); and sisters-in-law, Lois Loving and Louise Hooper; and Kristie Hooper.

Nancy devoted her entire life to taking care of others. She protected and nurtured family and neighborhood children for 50 plus years. Welcoming all children into her home, she loved, supported and encouraged each one as if they were her own. She nursed family members in their time of need. Nancy held dear her family gatherings and treasured having her grandchildren close by her side. She also enjoyed fishing and was quite good at it, as long as someone baited her hook and took the fish off for her quickly, so she could catch the next one. She also enjoyed watching the Dailey & Vincent music show every Saturday night.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 17th at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, also at the funeral home, with interment following in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA.

Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude.
