Delfin Reyes David, born on March 1, 1942, in the Philippines, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was 82 years old and a native to Virginia Beach for 30 years.
Delfin proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, where he dedicated 20 years of his life. He retired on January 31, 1985, with the rank of Petty Officer First Class. During his distinguished career, Delfin served during the Vietnam Conflict and was the recipient of numerous medals, including the Conduct Medal for the period ending July 1, 1981; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with device; Navy Unit Commendation; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Navy “E” Ribbon; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (1st Award with Star); and the Navy Expeditionary Medal.
Delfin is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Leilani C. David. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 56 years, Luz C. David, three sons, Derrick J.C. David, Dexter C. David, and Darren C. David, and two daughters, Aileen David Sizemore and Cheryl David Sarzaba, his seven wonderful grandchildren as well as his brother and two sisters.
Delfin will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his distinguished service to his country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
