Peggy Campbell Langston (Bucktrout Funeral Home)

It is with great sadness that the family of Peggy Campbell Langston, age 89, announces her passing on August 21st 2024 in Aurora, OH.

Peggy Joyce Campbell was born on August 26th, 1934 in Bath County, Virginia. She married her lifelong partner, Waverly Langston, in 1957. They spent most of their marriage in Newport News, Virginia. Peggy was a 36-year civil servant with the Finance & Accounting Office of the U.S. Army, in a career that culminated as the Chief Accounting Officer at Ft. Eustis Army Base. She did this while also raising her two children, Kerry and Lori. Largely unprecedented at the time, Peggy was a true trail blazer as a professional woman. Despite her impactful career, Peggy kept family at the center. She wore many titles to her loved ones: Wife, Mom, Nano, G-no and Aunt Peggy.

Peggy’s legacy will live on through her family. This includes son Kerry Langston and his wife Barbara with their two children, Waverly Paul and Milli; as well as her daughter Lori Ferguson and husband Roger with their two children, Kelsey (husband Eric Bobek) and Ashley as well as her two great grandchildren, Jackson and Charlotte Bobek. Her large extended family includes two brothers, Danny B. Campbell as well as Alvah “Jimmy” Campell & wife Diane. She has numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews that she cherishes like her own children and grandchildren. Peggy’s family will continue to honor her every day.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Waverly Langston, her younger brother Bucky Campbell and her sister-in-law Rose Marie Campbell. Like Peggy, they are all loved and missed every day.

Peggy was also enthusiastically involved at James River Baptist Church and loved all in its congregation. As an active member of the Church, she volunteered to do their accounting as well as many other activities and church events. Her faith continued to be an important part of her life. Always looking out for others, both in action and words, she volunteered and actively supported Good News Club, FISH, Inc. & Peninsula Rescue Mission. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by the many she touched throughout her life.

If you would like to join the family for services, the visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg VA 23188.
