George Wayne Messinger, cherished member of the Kempsville Masonic Lodge #196, Assistant Rabban for Khedive Shriners, Past Captain of the Motor Corps and proud member of the Order of the Quetzelcoatl, serving as Camaxtli of Teocalli 117 in 2023, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and joy.

George’s commitment to the Masonic fraternity and the Shriners was evident in his tireless service and leadership. As Assistant Rabban, he played a crucial role in supporting the mission of the Khedive Shriners, and his tenure as Captain of the Motor Corps was marked by his unwavering dedication and camaraderie.

A true NASCAR enthusiast, George’s passion for racing was infectious, and his knowledge of the sport was unmatched. His enthusiasm extended beyond the track, as he shared his love for the sport with friends and family, creating cherished memories at countless races and sporting the #24.

Those who knew George will forever remember his amazing laugh, a reflection of his warm and joyous spirit. His laughter was a source of comfort and happiness, lighting up every room he entered and leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

George was preceded in death by his mother Bette Messinger, brother Jeffrey Messinger and sister Linda Rising. Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife, Lani Krueger; children Stephanie Messinger, Paul Messinger & wife Sarah, and grandchildren, Brent, Kayla Lennon, Laina, Garrett, and Heston; he also leaves behind many extended family members and countless friends.

George Wayne Messinger’s life was a testament to service, passion, and joy. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many communities he touched. May his memory be a blessing and may his legacy of laughter and love continue to inspire us all.

A celebration of life will be held for George on August 11 at the Khedive Shrine Center at 2 p.m.
