Lt. Col. (Retired) Edward P. Gloskowski, 85, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of August 5, 2024. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ed’s life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family, community, and country.
Ed served his country with honor, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in the US Army. His distinguished military career was marked by dedication, leadership, and the deep respect he garnered from all who served with him. His service was a reflection of his selflessness and profound sense of duty.
In retirement, Ed demonstrated his boundless compassion and love for others by dedicating his time to working with at-risk youth and others in need within his community. His empathy and kindness left a lasting impact on countless lives.
A proud graduate of the University of Florida, Ed was also a member of their esteemed football team. His time at the university was marked by academic and athletic achievements, shaping the disciplined and driven individual he would become.
Ed was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sharron. Together, they shared many wonderful trips and adventures, creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew them. Ed’s love for Sharron was profound, unwavering, and enduring. A testament to his love, Ed gifted Sharron with fresh flowers each week for over 60 years.
Ed provided unwavering support and guidance as a father, instilling strong values and a sense of purpose in his children. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather, finding great joy in every moment spent with his family. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished each member as a unique part of the whole family. He is survived by his loving family, who will continue to honor his memory and carry forward his legacy of compassion and service.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sharron; children, Susan (Charlie) Spratt, and Stephen (Kim) Gloskowski; grandchildren, Catherine (John) Bennett, Alexandra (Zachary) Beam, Jenny Spratt (Will Slate), and Kristen (Josiah) Oswald; and great-grandson, Chandler Beam.
Lt. Col. (Retired) Edward P. Gloskowski’s legacy is one of love, service, and compassion. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the remarkable impact he made on those around him. His family and friends take comfort in the precious memories they shared and the knowledge that his spirit lives on in the values and love he instilled in them.

Funeral arrangements are with Bucktrout Funeral Home, with a private service for family members at Saint Bede’s Catholic Church on Friday, August 9, 2024.
