Shirley Edgemon Jenkins passed away at home, July 30, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Born March 14, 1936, in Amhurst, Virginia, Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Junious Jenkins; son, Jeffrey Norman; parents, James and Karen Edgemon; three brothers; and two sisters.
Shirley retired from James City County in 2002, after 22 years of service in the payroll department. In retirement she enjoyed cooking meals for Wednesday night suppers at Walnut Hills Baptist Church, where she was a member.
Shirley is survived by her sister, Betty L. Edgemon; children, David Norman, Ann (Kevin) McCafferty, Jimmy Norman, Amy (David) Colley, and Alan (Susan) Jenkins; grandchildren, Katie and Emily McCafferty, Andrew Colley, Mary Beth (John) Parks, Joshua and Lauren Jenkins; and great-grandchildren, McKenzie, James, and Maddie Bea Parks.
The family deeply appreciates the care given by Riverside Hospice, especially nurse Amanda.
