Clara B. Simmons, 82, of Lanexa, VA passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isadore and Helen Lucas Bryant.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James S. Simmons Sr.; her three sons, Joseph Bryant (Rhonda), Stuart Bryant (Hope), & James Simmons Jr.; her brother, Simuel Bryant; her sister, Evelyn Bryant; her grandchildren, Jamon Pace, Aisha Nash, Marcus Bryant, (Theresa) Jamar Smith, C’mone Simmons, Nneka Simmons,(Garnett)Miah Simmons(Michelle), Benjamin Ramirez, Seth Ramirez, Selena Morin, Christopher Morin, Lindsey Morin, Audrey Morin, Araceli Morin, Armando Morin; seven great grandchildren; two nieces, Maudine Webber, and Gerald Webber; nephews, Andy Bryant, Warren Bryant, Damani Bryant, Dante Bryant and Jerod Simmons.
Clara was a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, and in her free time, she volunteered at the Providence Forge Library. She attended Benjamin Graves Jr. High School and graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School. She took up a career in health care and worked as a Registered nurse, from which she retired.
Clara was a very kind soul who loved to listen to any variety of music. She spent her free time enjoying painting, reading, birdwatching, crocheting, and always working on arts and crafts with her grandchildren. You could find her navigating through The Travel Channel, as she loved the virtual travel experience it brought to her. She loved spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren, who she loved dearly.
The family receive friends on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Providence Forge Chapel of Vincent Funeral Home 9923 Pocahontas Trail Providence Forge VA 23140 where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery 14410 Rockahock Rd, Lanexa, VA 23089.
