Shelly Ann Frank Currin, 57, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 with her husband, children and family by her side.
She was born in Newport, RI, but spent almost all of her life on the Peninsula; Newport News was always her home. Daughter of Jane Susan Glasser Frank and Joe Samuel Frank, of blessed memory. She was survived by her husband of 35 years, George Douglas Currin and her children, Justin Brock Currin (Amanda) and Jessica Lee Currin.
Shelly led a life of devotion to her family and was cherished by her friends all over. Shelly considered her children to be her greatest achievement. She briefly worked as a personal trainer but knew her calling was to be the best mother she could be, never missing a soccer or field hockey game and taking care of anything her husband and children could possibly need. She loved hosting parties and having her children’s friends over making sure there was always enough activities and snacks ready to go.
Shelly valued loyalty above all else. Loyal to her family and friends and there for them in every way she could be. You never had to guess what she was thinking, she just made her feelings known, especially to those close to her.
Shelly loved sitting back with family and watching a good show, keeping her Leo by her side (family dog), eating dessert before dinner, taking walks in the neighborhood and watching beautiful James River sunsets. She touched many people’s lives and will continue to do so through her legacy.
