Vincent D’Elia Sr, West Point, VA, born April 7, 1941, originally from Bronx, New York, entered eternal rest on July 2, 2024.
Preceded in death by his spouse, Marina E. D’Elia.
Survived by children, Vincent D’Elia, Jr. (Patricia), Annamaria Guthrie (Paul), and grandchildren Vincent D’Elia, III, Lauren D’Elia, Tyler Mainor, and Ethan Mainor.
Vincent enjoyed a 20-year career with the Air Force which took him around the world where he would meet his wife of 53 years. He was last stationed at Langley Air Force Base where he retired. He started his second career as a deputy sheriff for the city of Hampton, then transferring to Newport News.
No one was a stranger, he loved to engage in conversations with anyone he met. He loved his community in West Point where he last resided. He was a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Most of all he was an avid reader with an extensive library and a stamp collector from his travels around the world.
A memorial service will be held at a later date where he will be laid to rest at the Hampton National Cemetery.
Thank you to Vincent Funeral Home for the after care of our father. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital in his honor.
