Kelvin Andrew Pressey Jr, “KP” was born October 19, 1984, in Baltimore, Maryland to Kelvin Sr. and Sylvia Pressey. His earthly labor ended on Monday, June 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
At an early age, KP was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Virginia. There he served in the Youth Choir and Youth Usher Board. He later joined the Church of Christ in Williamsburg, Virginia.
KP graduated from Jamestown High School in 2003. He earned a Bachelor of History degree from Chowan University in 2008. He was employed with the Newport News Shipyard, McDonald’s (Five Forks), and Hampton Inn until his passing. He often spoke of his desire to become a history teacher.
KP was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He always made sure his siblings, nieces, and nephews were taken care of. He loved to travel and always asked if he could take his nephews along. KP also loved to debate which earned him the name “The Great Debater” amongst his family. All who knew KP loved him. Anytime he was around there was always a warm presence.
He is preceded in eternal rest by his paternal and maternal grandparents, Thomas & Thelma Pressey and Russell & Annie Mae Bynum.
His memory will forever be cherished by his parents, Kelvin Sr. and Sylvia Pressey; eleven siblings, Donald Pressey Sr, Marcus Pressey (Tonya), Kevon Pressey, Kimberly Pressey, Anthony Jones, Kierra Davis, Keisha Pressey, Kendra Pressey, Kendal Pressey, Kristopher Pressey, and Kennard Pressey; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him unconditionally.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with Dr. Jennell Whitfield Riddick as the eulogist.
