Vasilios “Billy” Baltzis, 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in the middle of the night. He was born in Episkopi, Greece. He was a Hampton Roads resident for more than 40+ years.
Billy emigrated from Greece to the U.S. at a very young age. He was able to attain legal citizenship and worked hard to become a successful business owner. Before becoming a business owner, Billy worked as a head cook for many years in the restaurant business.
Eventually, he decided to change careers and open his own painting business, Billy’s Painting. This culminated into living the ultimate American dream for Billy as he forged his own path of success to provide a better life for himself and his family.
Billy thoroughly enjoyed cooking, fishing, Aris Soccer (a soccer team he faithfully followed in Greece) and family gatherings/celebrations. Billy had a tough exterior with a kind heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Billy was preceded in death by his middle son, Apostolos ‘Paul’ Baltzis. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Effie Baltzis; oldest son, Phillip Baltzis Sr.; youngest son, Theoharis ‘Harry’ Baltzis; grandson, Phillip Baltzis Jr.; mother, Fotini Baltzis; father, Apostolos Baltzis; brother, Demitrios Baltzis and several extended relatives including nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles & in-laws.
Services will be Private. The family requests no donations to be made and only asks for continued prayers.
