Daisy Lee Burch of Portsmouth, Virginia transitioned from this life on May 12, 2024, at the age of 66.
Born on September 24, 1957, she stayed in the Hampton Roads area her whole life. A graduate of Norfolk State University, Daisy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and furthered her education to obtain her license to teach. Her enduring passion for teaching and her dedication to her students left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Daisy dedicated her life to the education and well-being of students with special needs, working tirelessly as a school teacher for grades K – 12. She was also worked at the CSB for 20 years. Forever faithful, she was a devoted member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Mt. Mariah RZUA Church, Daisy’s commitment to her faith was profound and unwavering.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents Annie Dora Barnes and James Lewis Goodwin and her sister Bobby Jean Goodwin.
She is survived by her two loving sons, Mark Burch and Thomas Burch, by her siblings Sherita Corbitt, Shellie Chandler, Sherman Goodwin (Patricia), James Goodwin, Cindy Turner (John), Phyllis Whitehead, and Jimmy Goodwin (Gail), as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Daisy Lee Burch will be remembered for her devotion to her faith and her remarkable contributions to her students lives. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and commitment to others will be cherished by all whose lives she touched.
