Al Tennyson (also known as Butch) was born in Brooklyn, New York to Arnita and Alfred Tennyson on September 12, 1946.
He attended school in Brooklyn. After High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy. On November 12, 1966, he took Barbara Flannery as his bride. He is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He became a Chief Petty Officer and then an LDO, and retired after 29 years as a Lieutenant Commander.
Al is survived by his wife Barbara, his children Dan and Shannon, his sister Arnita, and his grandson Josh.
Memorial Service will be held at Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church on Pacific Avenue in Virginia Beach, and the date is to be announced.
