Mr. Steve C. Peery, a heavy equipment operator known for his expertise in developing ground and site work for various projects, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 21, 2024, in Suffolk, VA. He was born on September 3, 1961, in Bluefield, WV.
Steve had a deep love for Civil War history, with a special passion for the Confederacy, and he found enjoyment in fighting chickens.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Al “Kandy” Peery, and his father, Ronald Douglas Peery. Steve is survived by his mother and step-father, Linda Jean Young Perry Kidd and Harold R. Kidd, Sr., of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Jennifer Peery Shrader and her husband, Lewis “Poo” Shrader of Suffolk, VA; niece, Holly Allen (TJ); nephew, Bubba Allen (Jess); four great-nephews and one great niece; as well as his uncle, Thurman Eugene Peery of Bluefield, WV.
Family and friends are invited to attend the services honoring Mr. Peery on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, located at 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach.
