Charlie Ann Freeman passed away February 4, 2024 in Virginia Beach, VA at her home. Charlie was born February 27, 2001 to Joseph and Rebecca Freeman. She was a graduate of Kempsville High School and a student at Tidewater Community College.
Charlie was a fireball. She came into this world quickly, and always had a smile ready. She was an incredible artist; she especially loved drawing dragons and animals. She was a lover and protector of animals, no matter what they were. Charlie loved her friends and family fiercely. She loved going into nature on hikes with friends and swimming across lakes (sometimes multiple times in a day). She was constantly creating some new wonderful food from soups made from wild onions she grew in the backyard to cakes to pies to cookies that she had to share with anyone she could. She was truly a shaker and a mover. She used to walk around her parent’s house so much that she wore the grass down to dirt.
Charlie loved to thrift, and always had an eye for finding the hidden treasures. She was a thoughtful and caring woman with a wit and laugh that would brighten any room. Though small in stature, Charlie had the personality of a giant. She had little patience for nonsense, and yet she was silly; her quick wit kept everyone on their toes. Anybody who got to know her only wanted to know her more. Charlie was a wonderful daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and friend. To sum up her life in a simple paragraph is heartbreaking because she was so much more to us than just these words. She will be profoundly missed.
Charlie Ann was preceded by her grandparents, Charles and Edith Hill, and her grandmother Estelle Freeman.
She is survived by her parents: Rebecca and Joseph Freeman, her siblings: Amy Mullins, Patrick Hart, Joseph H. Freeman, Jack Freeman, and her cat, Katie.
Her service will be at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Virginia Beach. This will be a private event. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Second Chance Wildlife Refuge. They are a non-profit and all proceeds go to their cause.
