David James Elliott III passed away on December 22, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
David was born in Greenock, Scotland, to Rosemary Farnes Elliott and David James Elliott Jr. Like his father, David took up truck driving as a career. He travelled back to Scotland and joined the Territorial Army also known as Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Scottish Regiment of the British Army). Despite being away often, he cherished his family and frequently returned home with captivating tales of his journeys.
He had a gift for turning his many friends into family. Either his friends were regular guests in our home or he was in their homes, for days on end. His life took a joyful turn the day he began dating Evangelia Licerio (Vangie), the love of his life.
David was always a devout lover of the Lord. As a world traveler, he was not able to attend service as much as he would have preferred. He attended numerous churches, yet it was Vangie who introduced him to the church he came to love: “Iglesia ni Cristo” in Virginia Beach. As stated previously, David genuinely cared for his family and his church community. As he aged, he dedicated more time to these families. David, with his free spirit, was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. Anyone keeping up with him on a motorcycle ride would find themselves much further from home than anticipated, OBX was always a choice destination. He reveled in rides on sunny days alongside Vangie and friends. Dave also had a passion for music; he could talk endlessly or surprise you with texts sharing what he was listening to. He possessed an exceptional memory and impressive mathematical skills.
David was predeceased by his fiancee Evangelina. Many will miss David as he ascends to heaven, including his mother Rosemary and his father, David Jr. His brothers Richard, Larry, Michael, John, and his brother-in-law Rekcoe; his sisters Debbie, Heather, and Tamlyn, and sister-in-law Sherri. His nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in order by age: Jessica and her husband, Chad; Jasmine, Jayda, Rekcoe, Jazziana, Jaylen, RaNiyah, Rylan, Jayla, Rayden, Riker, Naomi, and Chad Junior. Vangie’s sons Eric and Robert; as well as a host of loving cousins and loyal lifetime friends.
