Joshua Martin Barkley, 20, of Williamsburg was entered into eternal rest on December 26, 2023.
He was the son of Aubrey “Gino” Barkley and Tena Katherine Barkley. He is survived by his sister, Brittany Thurman, and a host of other relatives and friends. He and his girlfriend, Madison, are expecting a baby boy in February.
Josh attended Warhill High School where he played as an outside linebacker and defensive end. Playing football was one of his biggest passions and greatest joys. His hobbies included fishing, water activities, and spending time with his family and friends. Josh had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest.
For anyone wishing to pay their respects and sign the register book, Vincent Funeral Home will be open from noon to 5 p.m., Monday, January 1 at 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140.
A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 2 at the Liberty Live York River Campus, 8201 Croaker Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188; the family is requesting everyone wear Warhill colors. Burial will immediately follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Dr., Williamsburg, VA 23188.
Friends are invited to join the family at 4 p.m., Wednesday, January 3 at the Williamsburg Moose Lodge, 5429 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188 to celebrate Josh’s life. Flowers can be sent to Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140.
