Marianne Henry Davis 70, from Petersburg, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene George and Dora Catherine Henry.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dale Davis; her daughter, Laura Adkins (Dustin); two loving granddaughters, Alaina and Khloe Adkins; two siblings, Harriet Carfley (Bernard), Paul Henry; mother in Law, Jeanette Davis; brothers in law, Bruce Davis (Joyce), Bradley Davis; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Hutton (Jason), Joseph Carfley (Kristin), Elaine Davis and Jared Davis; great nieces and nephews, Cole Hutton and Cassandra Carfley; special cousin, Beverly Porter (Glenn) and a host of other family, cousins and friends.
She was a graduate of North Allegheny High School, in Pittsburgh, PA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Special Education from Edinboro, PA. She was a cherished member of Prince George Christian Church, where she loved being a part of the children’s ministry and bible study. She was a devoted member of the Torah Club. She had the honor of helping develop and edit an upcoming children’s ministry curriculum. Marianne cherished her moments and times she had with Impact Kidz within Pecan Acres and Pin Oaks, moments of teaching and sharing meals were something she always cherished and kept dear to her heart.
She was a dedicated worker and cleaned Northbend and Westover Plantations for 20 plus years. She also cleaned Grace and Christ Episcopal Church in Petersburg, VA, where she treated cleaning as a ministry. She enjoyed being a historical guide for Centre Hill and Blandford Church. She loved spending time with her family, day trips to historical sites with her husband, spending time with her daughter and granddaughters. Above all else, she was devoted in her faith and love for her Lord, Jesus Christ.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday October 31, 2023, at Samaria Baptist Church, 8130 Lott Cary Rd, Providence Forge, VA 23140. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday October 30, 2023, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140.
