Cynthia A. Starr, 57, died on October 28, 2023. She was born on May 20, 1966 to David Seward and the late Katherine Seward.
Cynthia was a registered nurse. She was a member of Girl Scouts, Virginia Beach School Nurse Association, and Thalia United Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Andrew Galbreath and the Rebbeca Fannin, RN and the rest of the staff at SNGH Neurology and the John’s Hopkins ALS Research team members, Lora Clawson, M.S.N.,C.R.N.P,; Alpa Uchil, M.S.N., M.P.H., C.R.N.P.; Kristen Riley, Ph.D. , and Robin Kuser, RN and the rest of the team all for the dedication, compassion, and care during the last three-plus years.
She is survived by her husband of 37+ years, Andrew Starr; and children, Lauren (Zachary) Schmouder; Madelyn, Joshua, and Noelle Starr; grandloves, Katherine, Genevieve, and David; her father, David Seward; sister, Beth (John) Stockdale; brother, Richard Seward; nephews, Jonathan, Samuel, and Peter; and soul-sister, Karen Rothfuss. Also her furry four legged protector, Chief.
The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 5 to 6 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 p.m. with a reception immediately following.
