Albert John Dean Sr., 76, of Barhamsville, VA., died Tuesday, October 17, 2023, after a brave fight with Leukemia.
Born on October 11, 1947, he was the second born son of the late Richard Pelton and Rachel Hove Dean. He was a life-long resident of New Kent County and a graduate of New Kent High School. Albert loved the land and loved farming even more. He farmed for many years with his father Pelton and brother Richard, and later his sons A.J. and Augie. He loved hard work, riding back roads, and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 53 years, Willene “Billie”, who was instrumental in caring for him during his illness.
Albert is survived by his wife Willene “Billie” Dean; brother Richard Dean (Julie) of Barhamsville, two sons, A.J. Dean (Belinda) of West Point, Augie Dean of Barhamsville; a daughter Heather Hudson (Jamie) of Quinton; a grandson Matthew Waller Tamplin; and three granddaughters, Lyz Dean, Audrey and Olivia Hudson. The family would like to give special thanks to the Walter Reed Riverside Hospice Care team for their loving care and assistance.
The family will receive friends at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 22051 Tabernacle Road, Barhamsville, VA 23011, on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service led by Pastor Jennifer Mercer at 2 p.m.
