Grace Carlton Lawson, 88, of Adner, VA passed away September 2, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved taking care of her family. Grace was a long-time member of Shackelfords Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lawson; parents, Wilford and Blanche Carlton and a grandson-in-law, John Hart.
Grace is survived by a daughter, Kay Lumpkin (Richard); a granddaughter, Jennifer Hart; a great-granddaughter, Grace Emma Hart; two sisters, Rebecca Rilee and Dorothy Lawson (Frank) and a brother, Ronald Carlton (Barbara); a brother-in-law, Joe Ripchick and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 5 at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181. Interment will follow in Shackelfords Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
