Robin T. Fauntleroy, 65, of Williamsburg, VA, peacefully answered the Master’s call on Sunday, June 25, 2023, surrounded by loving family. She was born on November 16, 1957, to the late Robert Lee Fauntleroy Sr. and Ruth Fay Fauntleroy.
Robin was baptized at an early age at the family church, Little Zion Baptist Church. A life-long resident of Williamsburg, she was educated through the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools and graduated from Lafayette High School. She was a loyal employee of Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg Senior Living for over twenty years and a fan favorite of the residents.
Robin loved her daughters and family beyond measure and was extremely proud of her legacy, Rob’s Girls. She gave her daughters her best, teaching them to be their best and give their best to others. She embodied a quiet strength, strong work ethic and resiliency regardless of her circumstance. She was loved and admired by many for her fun, spirited personality complemented with a no judgement zone, acceptance and love. Her best days involved family time, going out to lunch with special friends or her sisters, being chauffeured around, watching Family Feud, westerns and the Walton’s, traveling with her family or spending special quality time with her “grandbaby” Lydia.
Robin lived a simplistic, yet rich life, never sweating the small stuff and impacting so many with meaningful, yet short and sweet conversations and her honest and easygoing nature. She was an essential piece that connected her family in so many ways. She was like a “friend,” having her own unique bond with each one of them. She is now forever free and will be forever loved and affectionately remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.
Robin was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, uncles, Earl Fauntleroy, John Fauntleroy, Otis Lee, and Lloyd Lee; aunts, Lillian Fauntleroy, Myrtle Fauntleroy, Gladys Harrold, Mabel Barbour, Louise James, and Peggy Rountree; brothers, Ross Carter (Buzzy), Robert Fauntleroy Jr., and Russell Fauntleroy; sister, Rowena Fauntleroy; great-nephew, Shaun Fauntleroy Jr.; and niece, Shannon Fauntleroy.
She leaves cherished memories with her devoted daughters, Arlana Fauntleroy and April Taylor-Temple (John); granddaughter, Lydia Temple; siblings, Ruby Holmes, Renal Fauntleroy, Reginald Fauntleroy (Audrea), and Rickie Fauntleroy Sr.; aunts, Novella Palmer (Robert) and Bernice Ortega (Angelo); special friends, Dawn Soper, Delia Taylor, and Luther Taylor; nieces and nephews, Regina Holmes, Crystal Fauntleroy, Eboni Bailey, RaShonda Johnson, Latia Piggott, Ciera Fauntleroy, Britain Brown, Ricky Fauntleroy, Larius Blount, Jr., Shaun Fauntleroy, Alex Hailey, Alvin Holmes, Jr., Bryan Epps, and Rickie Fauntleroy Jr.; and host of other loving relatives and friends.
