Stella “Voula” Panags, 93, of Newport News went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
Mrs. Panags was born in Sparta, Greece, and spent a majority of her adult life in Newport News. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt & sister. She was a faithful member of the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Daughters of Penelope organizations & Philoptochos. She ran Tracy’s restaurant for 60 years having originally operated it with her Husband, James “Tracy”.
Mrs. Panags is preceded in death by her husband, James P. Panags; her son, Tike J. Panags; her mother, Katina Lintzeris; her brother, Nick Lintzeris. Mrs. Panags is survived by her Daughter, Kathryn Kallinikos & Husband John; her granddaughters, Demetra Frink & husband, Matt; Demetra Kallinikos & husband, Rish; her grandsons, Spiros Kallinikos & partner, Vincent, & James Panags; her sister, Mary Panags & niece, Catherine; her sister, Kaliopi Housakos.
She was loved by numerous other family & friends as well as her community. The family will accept visitors at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 29 with the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 60 Traverse Rd, Newport News, VA 23606 with the Trisagion being chanted at 7 p.m. and coffee hour to follow. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 30 at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church with interment to follow at 1 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23606.
