Lana Marie Taylor was born on January 7, 1948, the daughter of the late Rev. Sarah Wright and Joseph Jones. On May 23, 2023, she was called home to Heaven for eternal rest.
She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Little Zion Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member.
She attended Cumberland Elementary School and Bruton Heights School. She worked at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in the food services departmnet. She also worked at LaPetite Academy for fifteen years and was a C.N.A. for Comfort Keepers for many years.
Lana loved cooking, fishing, going out to eat, spending time with her family, and singing in the choir. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. She had a special love for her Zaiden. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was also preceded in death by her Neil Morris.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Joseph Jones and Kevin Jones; loving daughters, Patricia Moore (Nathaniel) and Alisha Jones; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Morris (Ann), Matthew Wright (Shavonne); and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Little Zion Baptist Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Ms. Taylor may be viewed in the church on Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. Facial coverings are recommended for all services.
