J. Edward “Ed” Breuer, 93, of Williamsburg passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born September 12, 1929 in Great Neck Estates, New York to J. Edward Breuer and Ethel Bartels Breuer.
Ed attended Pace College, Rutgers, and New York University schools of continuing education, as well as served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Germany, Army of Occupation, from 1951 to 1953.
In 1970, he was married to Sandra Nelle Sanders.
Ed began his real estate career in 1955 with the Breuer Agency (owned by his father} in Great Neck, NY. He later went on to work in all facets of real estate including residential and commercial property management, and advertising for local and national real estate companies including the Investors Funding Corporation for which he managed properties in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Madison, Wisconsin. Ed retired as a Real Estate and Insurance Broker from the Alan Schneider Real Estate Company in East Hampton, NY, in 1995.
He lived in many places including, Great Neck, NY; East Hampton, NY; Austerlitz, NY; South Orange, NJ; and finally retiring in Williamsburg, VA in 1996.
Ed had a lifelong passion for restoring airplanes, automobiles, and motorcycles– winning many awards with these. He was a licensed private pilot and owner of a J3 Cub, Cessna 140, and Cessna 172. During the 1970’s, he was President of Settlers Landing Property Owners Association, East Hampton, New York; as well as a member of the East Hampton Rowing Club and Cat Boat association.
