Warner Linwood Wallace Fuller departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior on February 22, 2023. Warner “Wallace” was born on February 2, 1943, in Pittsylvania County, Danville, VA. He was the seventh of twelve children born to Joseph and Geraldine Fuller.
He attended schools in Danville and Newport News, VA. Upon moving to Newport News, he attended Carver High School. He later worked for over 30 years with the City of Newport News and 20 years at a private corporation.
Wallace loved God and his family. At an early age, he was baptized and became a member of New Beech Grove Baptist Church.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved people and life. He told the best jokes and everyone loved to be in his presence. A master gardener with a green thumb, he had a passion for yard work and making the yard look beautiful . His passion for yardwork was recognized as he won the neighborhood honor award for the best-looking yard in the Wood Creek community. Wallace enjoyed attending baseball games (The York Stars), bus trips, traveling, and fishing. He also enjoyed watching golf and keeping up with Tiger Woods, repairing cars, and was a sharp dresser. He loved music and was an excellent dancer. Everyone who knew him, knows he invented the “Lawn Mower” dance. He was always there when you needed advice and support. He will always be remembered as a person who loved God, family, and friends. Gone, but never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Christine Fuller; two loving children, Trina Hawkins and Rodney Fuller; two grandsons, Travis Hawkins and Kyle Fuller; brother, Herman; sisters, Bessie, Dorothy, Marion, Betty, and Brenda; loving family in Newport News and Danville, VA; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws who loved Uncle Wallace.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Colossian Baptist Church.
