Lois Carlton Walton, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2023. A lifelong resident of King and Queen County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Garrett Carlton and Garnette Cole Carlton; her husband of 51 years, Joseph Lemuel Walton, Jr., and her daughter, Dianna Lynn Walton Perry.
She is survived by her daughter Terry Walton Harrow (Eddie); son-in-law, Donald Lee Perry; 4 grandchildren, Amy Saunders (Doug), Jason Perry (Jennifer), Ashley Fidler (Will), and Bailey Hooper (Drew); 8 great-grandchildren, Cole and Kyle Saunders, Haleigh and Joseph Perry, Peyton and Ryland Fidler, and Blake and Allie Hooper; two devoted sisters, Doris Modr and Vivian Carter, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lois was a faithful Christian, a member of Old Church United Methodist Church, and, in her later years, attended New Hope Methodist Church in Saluda, Virginia. Her pride and joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was never more happy than when surrounded by those she held dear.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Joyce, Cathy, Kennie, Amy, and Doreen who provided loving and compassionate care to Lois over the last few years and were like family to her as well as the dedicated staff of Riverside Walter Reed Hospice.
The family will receive friends at Vincent Funeral Home, West Point, on Thursday, January 19th at 10 am with a service to begin at 11 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Joyce Goins, 145 Gregory Lane, Mattaponi, VA 23110.
