Irene was a homemaker for many years, before returning to work at age 47 and retiring from Richmond Memorial Hospital. She then worked for Advest, Inc., and many other part-time jobs over the years. Before the Alzheimer’s disease progressed, Irene was always the first to offer a ride to a doctor’s appointment or sit with friends and family, while their loved ones were in surgery. She prepared food, especially her signature macaroni and cheese and pound cake for Wednesday night prayer dinners or those with illnesses and grieving families. She never knew a stranger and was always there for anyone in need. Her greatest love was her large family. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Irene was the most content and happiest when surrounded by her family for every holiday, birthdays or any occasion that brought her family together.
