Sharon Louise Pallister (formerly Edwards) of Toano, VA passed away on October 20, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with colon cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis, beloved children Sydney and AJ, parents Reginald and Deanna Edwards, sister and brother-in-law Wendy and David Drys. She is also survived by her in-laws Bill and Phyllis Pallister, brothers-in-law Geoff (Beth), David (Tina), and Dane (Misty) as well as 8 nieces and nephews and 2 great nephews. She had a special bond with Kaydence and Trevor Drys (niece and nephew) and spent many weekends hanging out with these two at their house in MD and supporting them at their ski races in their younger years.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Genevieve Tvelia, Elsie Edwards and Fred Edwards, and mother-in-law, Janet Pallister.
Sharon attended school in Hampton, graduating from Bethel High School, and attended Radford University and Virginia Wesleyan University. She began a 25-year career as an insurance professional at USAA and wrapped up her career with Towne Insurance as a member of the Middle Peninsula Agency with employment at various companies in between.
In her younger years, Sharon loved to play softball and played for several teams over the years including her high school. Sharon loved to read and spent many days in the library picking out books and as technology evolved, she continued to read electronic books. Of course, she would also insist on mention of Rascal who made her a dog mom so many years ago. Current four-legged children include Bosco, Roxie and Charlie who remained by her side until the end.
A memorial service will be held in the coming weeks and details will be posted on her Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers and in light of the tremendous care Sharon was provided in her final days, donations can be made in her memory to Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg. Alternatively, donations can be made to a local animal shelter. Tributes may be posted at www.vincentfh.com.
