Late Saturday night, on August 27, 2022, our daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend, Tierra R’egine Hunter, aka “T-Raye,” entered eternal rest at her home in Gloucester, VA. She was born on September 13, 1994, in Newport News, VA.
She was educated in the Gloucester Country Public School System, graduating from Gloucester High School in June 2012. She was very involved in extra-curricular activities to include serving on the cheering squad, playing basketball, being a cadet in the NJROTC program, and stepping to the beat with a local community drill team, The High Steppers.
Tierra furthered her education by attending Thomas Nelson Community College, ECPI, and Centura College, where she earned an Associate of Science in May 2016. She also obtained her CNA license. Tierra worked at the Yorktown Convalescent Home and, more recently, at the Virginia Oncology Associates as a Medical Technician.
Tierra was introduced to our Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized at Way of the Cross Ministries in Gloucester, VA, where she sang in the youth choir. Tierra also attended the family home church, Wayland Baptist Church in Mathews, Va. Tierra loved to sing solos at church and aspired to pursue a music career. Her music can be found on various social media musical platforms. During her spare time, she enjoyed modeling and dancing. She also launched her own make-up line shortly after high school.
Tierra is preceded in death by her grandparents, Hilton and Delores Hunter and Robert and Mary Beale, and uncle, Kevin Hayes.
The wonderful memories of Tierra will be celebrated by her parents, Hilton and Diane Hunter; sisters, A’sannah Hunter and Brianna Parrish; brothers, Tyrell Waller and Antoine hunter; aunts and uncles; several great-aunts and great-uncles; and many cousins and friends.
