Brenda Lightfoot, 70, of Williamsburg

Brenda Lightfoot (Whiting’s Funeral Home)

“Sweet memories we recall of you, your caring and your love so true. Now it is time to say goodbye as you leave for your home in the sky.”

Brenda Dinell Lightfoot answered the Master’s call and entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 22, 2022. Her life began on July 15, 1952, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mattie Lee Lightfoot of Toano, Virginia.

Early in life, she accepted Christ as her Personal Savior. Dinell, as she was so affectionally called by family and friends, took pride in her daughter, grandkids, and great-grandkids and they all enjoyed spending time with her. Dinell loved cooking.  She was known for making her mac & cheese that only she had mastered. For many years, Dinell drove buses for Williamsburg-James City County Public School System prior to retiring. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was also preceded in death her grandson, Michael Sean Lightfoot, brother, James Monroe Lightfoot, Sr., and sister, Mattline Taylor. She leaves to cherish and treasure her blessed memories, her daughter, Gerenda Robinson (Greg); granddaughter, Michelle Lightfoot; great-grandsons, Zayvion Dickson and Zamier Johnson; great-granddaughter, Za’Miyah Johnson; brothers, Thaddeus Lightfoot, Clarence Jones (Kimberlee), and Kelly Jones (Vickie); aunt, Elnora Brown; uncle, John Lee Sr. (Levonia); and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, in Whiting’s Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. At the request of the family, there will be no viewing.  Livestream will be available at the beginning of the services.  Facial coverings are required.
