Henry Franklin “Koochie” Christian, 89, of Lanexa,VA, passed away peacefully, on July 1, 2022. He was the son of the late Charles Monroe and Eva Victoria Christian.

At an early age, he professed his life to Christ and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lanexa, VA, where he remained a faithful member until his death.

Henry had a love for fishing, hunting, growing large gardens and being the life of the party! He was a Master Electrician and Master HVAC technician. Henry had a passion to help people no matter if they were family, church, or strangers, he would give you his last dime. Henry had a charismatic smile and a very distinct country accent that will never be forgotten. He would call everyone “Babe”, whether you were male or female. Henry had a wealth of knowledge in the Electrical, HVAC, and Refrigeration trades, if you are reading this, he probably has done some work for you, or you know someone that he has completed work for in the past!

Henry was educated at George Watkins High School. He was drafted into the United States Army and served four years. He proceeded to work for the US Government and retired from Armed Forces Experimental Training Activities (AFETA) with 35 years of service, after retiring he worked and employed many locals within his own business, H.F. Electric Heating and Refrigeration. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Christian, grandson; Kelvin “Mane” Christian Jr., his siblings; Cappy, Charles, Elizabeth, Ethel, and Washington.

Henry leaves to cherish his loving son, Kelvin Christian Sr. (Priscilla “Peg”), one granddaughter, Kellie Carter (Maurice), four great-grandsons Nyaze’ Christian, Isaiah Cooke- Bey, Christian Carter, and Nicholas Carter, two sisters-in-law, Alease Christian and Mildred Christian, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, caring friends and two very special caregivers his niece, Shirley Street and great-niece, Shireese Street.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 1:00pm at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. The viewing will be from 11:00am-12:45pm before the funeral service. Interment will take place at 14831 Rockahock Rd, Lanexa, VA 23089 and repast will immediately follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
