James B. Godsey, 75, of Newport News

On Sunday, 6/26, our beloved, James “Jim” Godsey, age 75 of Newport News, VA was called home.

Jim was also affectionately known as Gramps. Jim was born in Johnson City, TN. He served in the

United States Marine Corps and was an honorable Vietnam Veteran. He lived in Newport News, VA for the past 39 years. In his younger days, Jim enjoyed fishing; he also loved sports, watching the TV with the volume on 100, hanging out with his best buddy, Nylique and spending time with his beloved wife, Joyce. Gramps was one of his favorite titles; he loved watching his grandchildren grow and going to their sporting events. He loved going out to eat with his family; being surrounded by love made him the happiest.

Jim leaves to cherish his memory, his wife and partner of 25 years, Joyce Ingleson-Godsey; his daughters, Julie Hendrix (Les), Jennifer McCallum (Mark), Victoria Ingleson, Michelle Jackson (David) and Kathryn Ingleson (Marcus). His grandchildren, David Hendrix, Chelsea Blomberg (Austin), Victoria Brooks, Heaven McCallum, Dominica Easter (Derrick), Jazmine Greene, Hakeem Ingleson (Alex), Aliyah Bowman, Colbey, Trent, and Lakyn Jackson and Marcus Atwater. Great grandchildren, Nicholai Hendrix, Oliver and Abigail Blomberg, Cameron, Jaide, and Nylique Easter, and Mayah Young. Gramps and Nylique were the best of buddies; Jim also leaves a host of family and friends. He will be missed so much by his family and will forever live in our hearts.
