George Dwight Adkins, 66, of Charles City, passed away on June 26, 2022.
George drove trucks for most of his life, and worked for D.W. Davis until he got sick. He enjoyed going to the drag strip and fishing.
George was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Adolph Adkins; two sons, George D. Adkins, Jr., and Michael Diggs; a daughter, Leah Adkins; a grandson, Kellan Reynolds; son-in-law, Christopher Adkins.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Brenda Adkins; his mother, Madge Adkins; two sons, Jason Diggs (Kary), Joseph Ellis; three daughters, Jessica Pruitt (Glenn), Tiffany Justis (Chris), Mary C. Adkins; six grandchildren, George Englehart (Olivia), Robert Englehart, Kennedy Justis, Ellie Justis, Addison Adkins, Remi Justis; a sister, Nancy Jackson; three brothers, Barry Adkins, Timmy Adkins (Joyce), Rex Adkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Thursday, June 30th at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 2nd, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 19300 The Glebe Ln., Charles City, Va. 23030.
