CHARLES CITY — James “Jimmy” Edward Hall, 80, of Charles City went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 18th, 2022 where he was reunited with his beloved wife, Ruth.
He was born on May 23, 1941 in Albemarle, North Carolina and relocated to the Hampton Roads area when he was ten years old.
Jimmy, referred to as Paw-paw for the past 30 years, enjoyed being a grandparent and great-grandparent more than anything. He lived a life devoted to Jesus Christ whom he loved, along with his family. When he was not listening to gospel music, reading his Bible, or watching western movies, you could find him reading and playing with his great-grandkids. He had a passion for fishing and spending time outdoors, which included gardening and soaking up the sun.
To quote what has been said by many, “to know Jimmy was to love him.”
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth Hall, father Edward Hall, mother Hilda Hatley, brother Rodger Hall, and son Robin Clontz.
Jimmy is survived by his sons Ed Clontz (Susie), Jamie Hall (Melanie), James Hollifield (Debbie), daughters Sandy Hula (David), and Tammy Rosales (Jaime). He is survived by eight grandchildren, Kalen Clontz, Amber Wilson (Robert), Craig Hula, Angelica Early (Blake), Adrianna Rosales, Caleb Hall, Cassie Hall, Charlie Clontz, and two great-grandchildren Wraylan and Tenley Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 6PM to 8PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. A service will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 11AM at First Simple Church with burial to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jimmy’s memory may be given to First Simple Church, 16401 Chickahominy Bluff Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185.
