WEST POINT — Mary Patricia “Patsy” Torbert Yarrington, 79, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, March 24, 2021, after a long, hard illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1941, in Norfolk to parents, Mary and Joseph Torbert, and the family moved to West Point in 1944.
She was a 1961 graduate of West Point High School. In November 1962, she went to work for Colonial Williamsburg and retired in September 2008 after 45 years of service.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Healey Torbert and Joseph Torbert; brother, Col. Donald N. Torbert; and husband of 40 years, Charles O. “Red” Yarrington.
She is survived by her aunt, Elizabeth Fisher, of Virginia Beach; three nieces, Amanda Torbert Mogg, Judge Holli Torbert Williamson and Susan Torbert Mullens; cousins, Faye Whitehurst of Chesapeake, Henry Morris of Norfolk, Gloria Spain and Violett Durrett of Midlothian; and two longtime friends, Brenda Gonzalez and family and Jeanie Buckner Sturtz, both of West Point.
Memorial services and burial will be private.
