
VIRGINIA BEACH — Mary O. Holt, 64, suddenly passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020. Mary was born Feb. 7, 1956, to Raymond Julius Ollenburger and Yoshiko Azuma Ollenburger. She was a graduate of Saint Leo University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Mary spent most of her childhood in Tomball, Texas. She graduated from Tomball High School in 1974 and immediately enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps as a musician (clarinet). She attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson and Advanced Individual Training at the School of Music, Little Creek Amphibious Base, where she graduated through the accelerated program. Mary married Michael Holt in 1976 while both were assigned to the Fifth Army Band at Fort Sam Houston. Together, they had three children, Jeremy, Justin and Amy.
During her early professional career, she served as an auditor for the DCAA and later operated her own successful bookkeeping business. She ultimately closed her business in order to homeschool all three of her children. In her later years, she returned back to the workforce as a certified life coach, operating her business, All Things Possible Life Coaching Services. She most recently worked as a program operations administrator for CACI.
Beyond her professional pursuits, she also maintained her love of the outdoors and was regularly engaged in a number of activities, including camping, fishing, marksmanship and boating.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind two sisters, Nancy and Ida; three children, Jeremy, Justin and Amy; three grandchildren, Collin, Maverick and Venice; two step-grandchildren, Piercen and Drake; and a number of loving friends with whom she shared the later years of her life.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach. Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of life will be delayed until Feb. 6, 2021. Details will follow.
