Henry Thomas “Tom” Cornick Jr., 81, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018. Tom was a native and lifelong Peninsula resident. He attended Poquoson High School and graduated from Augusta Military Academy in 1956.
Tom attended VMI before joining the U.S. Marines in 1957; he served his country for three years. He retired from BASF in 1993 after 35 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Thomas Cornick Sr. and Martha Penzold Cornick.
Tom is survived by his wife of 25 years, April Peltz Cornick; daughter, Lynn Mendibur (Tony); stepsons, Andrew Douglas Wright (Cathi) and Mathew Christian Wright (Kelli); brother, Robert Bruce Cornick; sister, Jane Dominick; seven grandchildren; great-grandson; and faithful companion, Sassy the cat.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, at Amory Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the SPCA in Tom’s memory.
