Stanley A. Boroden Jr., 57, of Virginia Beach, fondly known as “Rog” to his family and “Stan” to his friends, was born Aug. 27, 1961, in Far Rockaway Queens to the late Stanley A. Boroden Sr. and Mary (Kehoe) Boroden. He passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn Boroden; brothers, Dennis Boroden (Robin) and their children, Travis Boroden, Sandra Boroden and Kelly Phaneuf and Doug Boroden (Edna); sisters, Diana Golliver, and her children, Tom Golliver and Karen Trudden, Joyce Renda (Jerome) and Janice Wildstein (Harold), and their two sons, Scott and Evan Wildstein. Stan also had two stepchildren and three grandsons along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
After retiring from Radio Shack in New York, he moved to Virginia Beach to live with his first love, Dawn, who he married on Oct. 9, 2010. Stan drove a special needs bus for the Virginia Beach City Public Schools and absolutely loved his job. He also worked part time for A&W Contractors Inc.
Stan was an avid football fan and his team was the Dallas Cowboys. Coming from New York, people found that hard to believe, but he absolutely loved them and was a true fan. Stan loved his animals, too, as they were his fur babies. You would often see him outside with his dog, Ruby, who he adored. He also loved his two cats, Suey and Rowdy. There was never a dog that he wouldn’t try to rub on. He just loved them so much. Stan was an amazing husband and friend to everyone he came in contact with. He always had a positive attitude and a smile on his face. Everyone loved him and would often speak so highly of him.
Stan passed away suddenly and to those who truly knew him were heartbroken by the news, but there is not one person who doesn’t believe that the amazing Stan earned his golden wings and that he is driving that golden school bus in heaven with a giant smile on his face. He will be truly missed by everyone!
