John Paul McGrath, 53, of Virginia Beach, VA, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Born Nov. 20, 1964, in Beaufort, South Carolina, he was a son of Thomas and Caroline (Codney) McGrath. Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Elizabeth Ann; sons, Joshua (Margaret), Benjamin and Elijah McGrath; daughters, Lauren and Chelsea McGrath; and eight grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family.
John was a master electrician by trade and engaged in years of mission work in Africa. He was the former pastor of Brownsville Christian Fellowship, Brownsville, Pennsylvania, and a current member of Wave Church.
Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 9, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, Aug. 10, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
