Leonard Everette Smith, 88, went to be with the Lord on Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018. He was born in Rich Square, N.C., to the late Edgar and Mary Smith.
He retired from a successful career in the U.S. Navy, the civil service, and he was a volunteer at the pharmacy at Little Creek Amphibious Base.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Emily; and is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Smith and Deborah Sneller, and her husband, Bill; granddaughter, Laura Oliver; great-grandchildren, Emily and Tyler Metcalf; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 29, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
