Ella Mae Hizenski, 90, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, in Williamsburg, Va.

Ella Mae was born May 9, 1927, in Richmond, Texas, to Henry Stanley Nowak and Pearl Stella Twardowski. She graduated from Reagan High School in Houston, Texas. On Nov. 9, 1946, Ella Mae married Jesse Hizenski in Houston, Texas, and they were married 65 years. Ella Mae and Jesse traveled the world and throughout the United States.

Along with her husband, Jesse, She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Nancy, Charlie, Bill, Alice, Genevieve, Sara, Tekla, Natalie and Henry; and granddaughter, Katherine Genevieve Dobis.

Ella Mae is survived by her daughters, Joy Hizenski, and her husband, Wayne Lee, and Amy Hizenski; four grandchildren, Jessica Dobis Murphy, Briana Lee, Mary Dobis and Stan Dobis; along with her sister, Florence Sivcoski, who resides in Houston, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, with Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral services and Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, at Saint Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, with Monsignor Keeney officiating.

Pallbearers will include her grandson, Stan Dobis of Haymarket, Va.; nephew and godson, Tom Bennett of Alvin, Texas; son-in-law, Wayne Lee of Frederick, Md., granddaughter’s husband, Ryan Murphy of Austin, Texas; niece’s husband, James Sebesta of Sugarland, Texas; and friend of granddaughter Briana, Lamar Worrell of Frederick, Md. Burial will follow in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. The date and time will be announced.
