Jackalyn M. ‘Jackie’ Beltinck, 64, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018. She was born in Lewiston, Maine, to the late Howard and Gwendolyn Bailey. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 43 years, Francis “Frank” Beltinck; two sons, Jay Jay and Bryan Beltinck, and their families, Jay Jay and Angela Beltinck, and their children, Peter, Jaymee, Ryan, Nikki, Drew and Samantha, Bryan and Meredith Beltinck, and their child, Nicholas. Also mourning her loss are her siblings and their families, Russell and Charlenne Toussaint, Ellis and Amy Bailey and Denis and Michelle Bailey; as well as a host of extended family members and friends who love Jackie dearly will also cherish her memory.

Jackie was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Toussaint.

Jackie was a loving and thoughtful person who never forgot to call a loved one on their birthday or anniversary. She also helped raise the children (who are now successful adults) in her neighborhood by providing daily care and encouragement to them in her daycare center.

Jackie’s family and friends will miss her smile, her laugh, her wit, sarcasm, and especially her stories. Jackie loved keeping in touch with her family and many friends over the phone and through Facebook. Jackie was the family genealogist and was very interested in learning about and documenting the family’s lineage and ancestry. Most recently, she was fascinated with Pearl Parties, and her family and friends were the recipients of some of the beautiful pearls opened by Jackie.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Norfolk.

The family wishes to thank the Physicians, especially Dr. Deepak Talreja; the Nursing staff, especially Sandy and Derrick; and all of the other wonderful team members of Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital for the love and care they provided to Jackie and the Beltinck family during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Lung Association.
