Eileen Ryan Burnett, 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 21, 2017. She was born Aug. 23, 1935, to the late Alphonsus and Christine Ryan. Her loving husband, Clyde H. Burnett Jr., also preceded her in death.
Eileen was a faithful member and volunteer of Ascension Catholic Church, where she enjoyed utilizing her artistic talents. Throughout her life, she worked to better the lives of those around her as a teacher, a caregiver and an artist. Painting was her passion that she shared with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Barry Burnett, Sharon Crabtree (Bob), Michael Burnett and David Burnett (Lynn); siblings, Colleen Selario (Sam) and Bill Ryan (Brenda); and 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 26, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Ascension Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
