
Patricia M. Vernon, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born Dec. 12, 1945, in Norfolk to the late Raymond and Myrtle McCoy Sr.
Pat worked at Channel Crab Co. for several years. She worked for the Virginia Beach Police Department as a meter maid and a school crossing guard, as well as Uniway of Tidewater for 15 years. The word that best describes her is feisty! She was full of energy, always on the go, at work, and dedicated to her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Vernon Jr.
Left to cherish many memories are her husband of 56 years, Jerry Vernon Sr.; daughters, Nadine V. Scott, and her husband, Phillip, of Moyock, N.C., and Tina M. Vernon of Chesapeake, Va.; grandsons, Gary Scott, Michael J. Wilhelm Jr. and Jerry Vernon III; granddaughter, Rebecca A. Scott; and great-granddaughter, Anna E. King. Pat will be missed tremendously.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, at the funeral home.
