Scott Marshall ‘Scotty’ McCoy, 38, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
A Norfolk native, Scott resided in Virginia Beach all of his life. He was an avid Redskins fan and was a carpenter by trade. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Donald and Jenny Scott; and paternal grandfather, Herman McCoy.
He was happy-go-lucky as a child and a friend to many, usually the center of attention at most events. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Scotty, you’re home now where you can truly be free and happy.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Corynn McCoy; parents, Joseph and Yvonne McCoy; grandmother, Elva McCoy; sister, Lisa Hickey, and husband, Tom; brother, Joseph M. McCoy Jr., and wife, Pinky; four nephews, Joshua and Jacob Hickey and Trey and Patrick McCoy; niece, Piper McCoy; two uncles Mark and Shane McCoy; and two cousins, Stephanie Cloutier and Tracie McCoy.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
