Demetria P. Pedralvez, 99, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, at her home. Born in the Philippines, she was preceded in death by her husband, Braulio; and sister, Angela Fermin.

She was a very generous, kind-hearted, thoughtful, religious and hardworking woman. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and playing cards.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rolando Pedralvez, and his wife, Emmie, Luz Pedralvez, and Joey Pedralvez, and his wife, Darlina; grandchildren, Myla Gonzales, and her husband, Jed, Lanie Cruz, and her husband, Jay, Chona Vallencour, and her husband, Todd, Daniel Pedralvez, Jaelynn Pedralvez and Juliana Pedralvez; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter and Cara Reese Gonzales, Dayne and Madyn Cruz, and Laif and Savannah Vallencour.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, May 13, and Sunday, May 14, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, at Catholic Church of St. Mark. A private entombment will be held at Catholic Church of St. Mark at a later date.
