Joseph Samuel “Joe” Rabel, 89, car salesman with Perry Buick for over 50 years

Joseph Samuel “Joe” Rabel, 89, went to his heavenly home Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017.

He was born in Hopewell, Va., to the late Paul Albert Rabel Sr. and Ila Rabel. He was a member of Community Church of Norfolk. Joe served in the U.S. Army and later worked as a car salesman for Perry Buick for over 50 years.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Alice P. Rabel, and is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Knapp, Teri Hoover, and her husband, Jeff, Joyce Rottler, and her husband, Ray, and Della Sue McGaha, and her husband, Gary; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; niece and caregiver, Kathy Price; and several other nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, with Pastor R.C. Meno and family friend, Bob Douros, officiating. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.

Though we love you and miss you tremendously, we know that Joe and Alice are rejoicing together in the presence of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
