Margaret E. Thomas, 84, of Gibbs Wood, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Maude Brogeler; husband, John; daughter, Evelyn (Kirk); great-grandson, Ian; brother, Herman; and son-in-law, Mike Dixon.
She was loved by her children, Margaret (Mark), John (Karen), Belinda and Charlie, Posy (Ron); two nieces, Beverly and Diane; special sister-in-law, Edna Rascoe; special friends Debbie Prescott and Annie Harris; and 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was loved by many special friends and family. She loved to fish, her flowers and her birds. She will be deeply missed by many.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 929 Battlefield Blvd. S., Chesapeake. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Cava Baptist Church, 6560 Blackwater Road, Virginia Beach, followed by a committal at Cava Baptist Church Cemetery.
