
Jack L. Sprague, 68, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; his daughters, Michelle, Mary and Christy; and his son Steve (April). He has 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Jack was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. He joined the Navy and served over 28 years on sea tours aboard five submarines and a submarine tender – USS Raton, USS Gurnard, USS Haddo, USS Tang, USS Gudgeon and USS Dixon. After retiring from the Navy as a lieutenant commander, he resided in Virginia and continued his career, managing submarine-communication programs. Jack joined Long Wave Inc. in 1999 as vice president and became a part owner in 2006.
Jack was a genuine family man and a hard worker. He loved his wife deeply and lived life with integrity, devotion and a great sense of humor. He was a beach enthusiast, avid runner and a cyclist. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Vienna, Va. at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016. A reception will immediately follow at De Sales Hall. Burial with full military honors at Arlington Cemetery will be held at a later date.
